Breath of Fresh Air

Baby's breath has a bum rap in the flower world...  Often paired with a single red rose green tissue paper, it's always a bridesmaid and never a bride. Ho-hum!
BUT... on its own, it has an ethereal quality. Fluffy poofs suspended by filament-thin stalks... A modern vase, and voila! You've got a fresh arrangement for Spring.

Bertoia Kids' Chairs

Kids Bertoia Reproduction Chair in White
We ordered the most awesome kids' chairs from Room Service in LA. *
Paired with an IKEA lack end table, H has the perfect set-up for a snack or playtime. Now, I just need to buy one in my size...
*One issue with this store- they didn't include the hardware to put the chairs together, and we are still waiting...

Body of Art: Gala Benefiting WTW Gallery

The gallery that I volunteer for, Women and Their Work, is celebrating spring with a gala event on Friday, April 23rd at the home of art collector Deborah Green.
The house is built around her amazing collection of work... and is simply gorgeous. The event will be an evening of art and spectacle, with performers, a dj, fabulous food and drink.
Tickets are available now online!

Real Ale Brewery Party Invite

For my husband's 30th birthday, I organized a bus trip for him and a bunch of friends to the Real Ale Brewing Company in Blanco, TX.
The invite was inspired by Real Ale's bottles and website.
They had a great time and we all enjoyed BBQ from Ruby's (our favorite in-town BBQ) and beers back at the house.

It's a Nice Day for a Mod Wedding

I created modern wedding invites for my brother and sister in law. I am so happy that they liked the design, because I couldn't wait to make them! The radiating circle motif held so many fun possibilities. I'll take a pic of the printed/assembled invite as soon as I can!
They were printed on pearlescent opal colored cardstock- simple and, I think, divine!

Eco-Friendly Baby Shower Invite

I created this baby shower invite last month for an all-organic baby shower. The invite was emailed out as a jpeg, and paper copies (printed on post-consumer paper) were sent only to those who don't receive email.
The artwork is in watercolor.
While I love paper invites, ribbons, and wrapping paper, going eco-friendly is a new trend with lots of creative possibilities!

Antonelli's Cheese Shop

Thank you loyal blog followers for checking back after my long, unannounced, unintentional hiatus!
Lots of projects going on here at 1809West, and no time to blog about them. I will try to share as much as possible, but for now...
You must try Antonelli's Cheese Shop! It is every cheeselover's *or if you are just a cheeseliker, it will push you over the edge* DREAM!
You can try as many kinds of cheese as you like and they keep a record of what you buy!
